Hazelwood Baptist Church

AWANA is a "kids club" that reaches boys and girls with the gospel of Christ. Through Bible memorization and other Bible-based activities, children learn the Word of God which helps develop their relationship with Jesus Christ and with others. AWANA is an acrostic for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed from 2 Timothy 2:15. AWANA meets Sunday nights from 5:30-7:15 p.m. in the gym. The evening is divided into segments of Handbook Time, where kids recite their memorized verses, Council Time, where kids hear a short inspirational message, and game time. There is also time at the end of the evening when kids are recognized for their achievements.

Dues are $.25 a week. A handbook is $6 and will last about a year. Uniforms are between $7 and $20, depending on child's age. Scholarships are available.
