"My name is Ray.  I'm an alcoholic."

I remember those words when I was called upon at my first meeting.  It was very hard at first to admit that I had a problem, especially a drinking/drugging problem.  I have repeated those words many times in the past 21 plus years (one day at a time).  My life has been changed beyond my expectations. 

I began my recovery by checking into a rehab center.  They started me on a 12-step program for recovery.  That program helped me believe that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity.  That power at first was the rehab center itself.  Later when I got out (after 5 weeks) I began attending weekly meetings.  While attending those meetings I changed that power to be God.  Actually I changed it to the care of God, as I understood him (notice the small "h").

As years went by I became saved and recognized that that power was Jesus Christ.  Now for the first time in my life I desired a personal, intimate relationship with our Lord.  That's when the Lord brought Rapha into my life.  Rapha is a 12-step program that is very similar to the 12-step program I went through before.  The difference is that it plugs Jesus and biblical truths into those steps.  It has changed my life drastically and given me such a peace with my recovery.  It is now in God's hands as I truely understand Him.

I have taken a few people (one-on-one) through this Christ-centered 12-step process.  I would like to establish a network of people to help others who need this program.  Instead of a one-on-one treatment only, I would like to establish a weekly class going through each step.
